A Learning Community Committed to International Understanding,
Academic Excellence, and Public Service
International College Dean's Letter
Welcome to the International College of the University of Bridgeport. Our College is as a close knit learning community of established and burgeoning scholars who are committed to the furtherance of international awareness, intercultural communication and academic excellence. The College’s pertinent academic offerings, its small classes, its diverse faculty, its tradition of close student-faculty relations and its co-curricular activities all contribute to the quality of the International College educational experience.

The International College's programs are designed to provide students with marketable skills, career-enhancing, quality education and with the necessary academic training to enable them to render meaningful service in a wide array of corporate, non-governmental, governmental, or intergovernmental venues. In all of our major programs, students have the possibility of earning both a B.A. and an M.B.A. in just five years.
Recognizing the importance of a broad cultural base, synthetic and analytic skills, and mastery of foreign languages, the International College encourages learning in these areas. The College’s unique academic program in political science and its co-curricular activities provide students with an understanding of the genesis and evolution of modern democratic institutions. Through our programs in Mass Communication and World Religions, we also explore the crucial roles played by the press and civil society in political and economic affairs. Through our unique offerings in area studies, we provide insight into the fundamental forces that will shape the major cultures in the coming decades.

The International College also offers concentrations in conflict resolution, and in service learning. The international student body of UB, both a "living laboratory" and a "microcosm of the global world," provides an unparalleled context for such study, which may help to explain why in a span of just six years our graduates have already gone on to make an impact in some of the world’s best known international organizations and transnational corporations.
To our current students, if you have not yet visited the Dean’s Office please do so. I look forward to meeting you and to working with you to help you to achieve your goals at UB. To prospective students and applicants, I will also look forward to greeting you when you visit the UB campus.
