Faculty in Spotlight

James Nicholoas, Adjunct Professor of International Business, was included in the 2003 World Trade Centers Association Book of Honor, which provides the profiles of distinguished individuals and organizations around the world--and the World Trade Centers that selected them--that best represent the WTCA's vision of peace and stability through trade. Other awardees in the year of 2003 include Archbishop Mpilo Desmond Tutu, Tung Chee-Hua (Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region), and Pin-Kung Chiang (Vice President of Legislative Yuan of Taiwan).

David Kohn, Professor of Accounting, has been selected by Who's Who in America for inclusion in its 59th Edition.  This listing is by-invitation-only.  Only those who have demonstrated outstanding achievements and a biographic profile that is of national reference interest are selected by Marquis Who's Who for this prestigious listing.

William Greenspan, Professor of Business Law and Director of Undergraduate Program, presented a paper at a conference of business law professors at Boston College Law School recently.  This is paper has been accepted by Business Law Review , a refereed journal, for publication.  

Congsheng Wu, Associate Professor of Finance and International Business, has a paper accepted by Journal of Business and Economic Studies for publication.  This paper, entitled "All IPOs Are Not Created Equal," examines the relation between price adjustment, initial return, and subsequent short-run performance of initial public offerings.  Dr. Wu has another paper, "The Pricing of Global Versus Domestic Seasoned Equity Offers," accepted for publication by the Journal of Multinational Financial Management.

Gad Selig, Associate Professor of Management, will present a paper entitled "Current and Evolving Best Practices for Planning and Development of Enterprise Wide Information Technology Program and Projects in a Fast Track Mode" at the 5th Annual Global Information Technology Management Conference (GITM) in San Diego, CA on June 13-15, 2004.  This paper will be published in the proceeding of this conference.

William Greenspan, Professor of Business Law, has published a paper entitled "Enforceability of Software Licensing Agreements in Copyright Infringement Cases: Contracting Around the First Sale Doctrine" in the most recent issue of Business Law Review, a premier journal for Business Law professors in New England area.

Gad Selig, Associate Professor of Management, presented a paper entitled "Critical Success Factors for Creating and Sustaining Faster Cycle Time (FCT) for the Deployment of Enterprise Wide Information Technology Initiatives" at the 34th Annual Meeting of the Decision Science Institute in Washington, D. C. on November 22-25, 2003.  This paper has been published in the proceeding of this conference.

Glenn Bassett, Professor of Management, has been appointed by Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) to the Articulation Committee for a three year term ending June 30, 2006.  ACBSP is one of the major accreditation bodies for business schools all around the U.S.

Congsheng Wu, Associate Professor of International Finance, published an article entitled "The Pricing of Global and Domestic Initial Public Offerings by US Companies" in a recent issues of the Journal of Banking and Finance.

Jim Nicholas, Adjunct Professor of International Business, was given the "Todd Ouida World Trade Award" for embodying the CWTA's goal of Peace and Stability Through Trade. 

Tracy Rigia and Janet Albert, both faculty of Fashion Merchandising, were inducted into the Delta Mu Delta Honorary Society in May 2003.

Janet Albert, Associate Professor of Fashion Merchandising, was nominated and featured in a full-page article in the Connecticut Post in June 2002, "Woman of Substance."
