UB to host TDC/Type Directors Club of New York exhibition from April 8-23
The Gallery at the University of Bridgeport will host the annual TDC/Type Directors Club of New York competition and exhibition, featuring the best typography in publishing, motion graphics, and other design fields from April 8 through April 23.
The Gallery is located at the Arnold Bernhard Center, 84 Iranistan Avenue, Bridgeport. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday noon to 5 p.m. The show is free and open to the public.
A gala reception will be held 6 p.m., Friday, April 15 at The Gallery. To attend, please contact (203) 576-4034 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Held since 1954, the TDC competition sets the high mark for graphic design, incorporating innovative typography in all fields of design: posters, books, packaging, editorial, apparel, motion graphics, branding, calendars, exhibit design, and others.
This year’s show features more than 225 works in graphic design and comprises the juried selections from two competitions in typography and type design that are organized by the Type Directors Club of New York.
“The TDC show brings together graphic design work by many of the world’s best designers, both new and experienced. They explore all sorts of directions: humorous, serious, forceful, gentle, sly, and up-prong. Seeing the works is an inspiration for anyone involved with design,” said gallery director Gary Munch.
