UB to host local premier of Dream Builders, documentary winner of the 2010 CINE Golden Eagle, on Tuesday, September 21
The University of Bridgeport is proud to host the local premier of Dream Builders, the award-winning documentary about Peter M. Lehrer and Gene McGovern, business partners who rose from the streets of New York to create Lehrer/McGovern, a construction company that would oversee the world’s most important building projects, from the renovation of the Statue of Liberty to the Towers of Kuala Lumpur.
The film screening and a question-and-answer session with Mr. Lehrer will follow an opening reception starting at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 21 at the Mr. and Mrs. Henry B. duPont III Tower Room in the Arnold Bernhard Center at the University of Bridgeport, 84 Iranistan Avenue.
To attend, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org or (203) 576-4696.
Winner of the prestigious CINE Golden Eagle Award for “Best Adult Education Film,” Dream Builders was produced, directed, and edited by award-winning filmmaker Larry Locke, a resident of Westport, Conn.
Locke’s documentary tells the story of the remarkable founding of Lehrer/McGovern and its subsequent growth into one of the most important construction firms in the world. Lehrer/McGovern has overseen the building and renovation of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Canary Wharf, Euro Disney, the Towers of Kuala Lumpur, and the 1996 Olympic venues in Atlanta. Part documentary and part educational tool, Dream Builders exposes the inner-workings of an important American business partnership in a dramatic, personal way that’s never seen before.
In addition to the CINE Golden Eagle, Dream Builders was named “Best Documentary” at WorldFest in Houston.
