Words will come to life on Wednesday, April 6, when Bridgeport public school students hold their annual Community Poetry Slam at the University of Bridgeport.

The free event is open to the public and to any poet who wants to read or recite an original work.

It begins at 6 p.m. at the Arnold Bernhard Center, 84 Iranistan Avenue, Bridgeport.

“We really hope that poets of all ages come to read or recite something of their own, and join our students. We have really talented student poets in the Bridgeport public schools, and it should be a great evening,” said Bridgeport teacher Ron Rapice, who is organizing the poetry slam.

Poets do not need to pre-register to participate in the event.
