In their highest ranking yet, UB women's soccer team moves up to number five in the nation
The University of Bridgeport women’s soccer team advanced two spots to number five in the nation in this week’s national NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Poll, released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) on September 20.
The Purple Knights, who are currently 6-0-0 on the season, hold on to the number-one spot in the East Regional rankings for the second consecutive week.
In the NSCAA national Top-25, the UB women have risen from number 17 in week one, to number seven last week, to the number five slot this week, which is the highest ever ranking in a national poll for the Bridgeport women’s soccer program.
This week, the team, led by Head Coach Magnus Nilerud, faces one of the most challenging stretches of the 2011 season when it hosts the 2010 East Coast Conference Champion C.W. Post at 6 p.m., Saturday, September 24.
