Dr. David Katz to address Physician Assistant Institute’s first class at UB Health Sciences Commencement on May 13

Dr. David L. Katz, founding director of Yale University Prevention Research Center, will be the keynote speaker at the 2013 University of Bridgeport (UB) Health Sciences Commencement at 2 p.m. Monday, May 13.

Members of the first class to graduate from UB’s Physician Assistant InstituteThe Physician Assistant Institute’s first graduating class will receive their diplomas on May 13.
He will address 19 seniors who are members of first class to graduate from UB’s Physician Assistant Institute, which started in January 2011.

Degrees also will be awarded to graduates from the University’s Acupuncture Institute, College of Chiropractic, Human Nutrition Institute, Fones School of Dental Hygiene, and the College of Naturopathic Medicine.

Katz is director and founder of Integrative Medicine at Griffin Hospital, editor-in-chief of Childhood Obesity Journal, founder and president of Turn the Tide Foundation, a research institute dedicated to reducing obesity, and author of numerous books on health, diet, and nutrition.
