Enjoy this daytime concert for Bridgeport Public Schools along with the UB community!

Back Country Jazz in partnership with University of Bridgeport presents Thelonious Monk’s Hundredth Birthday Celebration. Bennie Wallace has assembled a killer band to capture the spirit of Monk’s music: the off-beat melodies, humor, beauty, and unstoppable grooves and swing.

The performance will feature:

Bennie Wallace tenor sax, music director
Godwin Louis, alto sax
Donald Vega, piano,
Matt Dwonszyk, bass
Herlin Riley, drums
Jazzmeia Horn, vocals
