Police officers, firefighters and people of all ages will get help with
their health at the Family Health Fair on Friday at the University of
Bridgeport. There’ll be free detoxification treatments for police
officers and firefighters exposed to unhealthy conditions in fighting
fires or helping out in disaster zones such as the World Trade Center.
Children will get hands-on experience in checking their own health.
There’ll be free blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol screenings, and
dental, chiropractic and nutritional consultations. Expert information
on cancer, diabetes, detoxification, cardiovascular and sickle cell
diseases will be available.
The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in UB’s
Health Sciences Center, 60 Lafayette St., Bridgeport. Lunch is available
at noon at a cost of $5. The College of Naturopathic Medicine is
sponsor.
