Medical Colleges Offer Care to Survivors of Terrorist Attacks, Victim's Families and Others Affected by the Tragedy

The University of Bridgeport’s Colleges of Naturopathic and Chiropathic Medicine are offering alternative health care to people directly affected by the Sept. 11 terrorists attacks.

The service is being offered free, along with free medicine, through mid November. All care is overseen by licensed naturopathic and chiropractic physicians. The deans of the schools — Dr. Peter Martin and Dr. Frank Zolli — said the faculty and students want to help the surviving victims of the terrorism, their families and significant others, as well as rescue workers, police and firefighters and others affected by the attacks. The schools will provide the following services through their clinics:

  • Chemical detoxification for exposure to building debris
  • General emotional support and stress relief
  • Immune and organ support
  • Acupuncture and homeopathy
  • Physical medicine
  • On-going wellness and chiropractic care

The services are being offered at the schools’ clinics at 60 Lafayette St. in Bridgeport. The clinic hours are 2 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays. Arrangements can be made or further information obtained by calling the clinic (203) 576-4349. Walk-in patients are also welcomed.
