University of Bridgeport Receives Two Greater Bridgeport Area Foundation Grants

Bridgeport - The University of Bridgeport has recently received two grants totaling $ 4,666.00 from the Greater Bridgeport Area Foundation.

The first grant, for $1,500.00, was made possible through the activity of the Henry B. duPont, III, Advise and Consult Fund and is to be used for general purposes at UB.

The second grant, for $3,166.00, was made possible through the activity of the Sam M. & Pauline Golden Fund, and is also to be used for general purposes.

The University of Bridgeport, founded in 1927, is a non-sectarian, comprehensive, private University located on the Long Island Sound in Bridgeport. It currently enrolls 3,200 students, almost evenly divided between graduate and undergraduate students. UB prides itself on offering students a unique, inter-cultural experience with nearly half of the full-time undergraduates being international students.

The Greater Bridgeport Area Foundation is a growing community foundation with assets totaling over $35 million in 270 permanent endowed funds. This past year, the GBAF has distributed over $1.2 million to the community.
