As the spring semester

enjoy the renovations completed during winter

Salonen, Unanimously Appointed Ninth President of the University of
Bridgeport
NEIL ALBERT
SALONEN, former Chairman of the Board of Trustees
of the University of Bridgeport, was unanimously
appointed ninth President of the University
during an Executive Session of the Board of
Trustees in December. President Salonen succeeds
Dr. Richard L. Rubenstein, who has served as
President of the University since January 1995.

Wins Regionals
A three-student
team from the Computer Science and Engineering
Programs at UB took first place in a regional
computer problem-solving contest, beating out
teams from the University of Rochester,
Middlebury College, SUNY at Buffalo and Colgate,

Student Wins
National Housewares Competition
MANUEL SAEZ, a
senior in Industrial Design, won the first prize
of $3,000 in the National Housewares Competition
in Chicago for his design of a room air purifier
