New
Men's Basketball Coach
Welcome
Mike Ruane to the UB community as the new head
coach for the men's basketball team, as well as
track coach and Sports Information Director. Mike
comes to us from Philadelphia University - which
is a member of our new NYCAC basketball
conference - where he was assistant basketball
coach for the past two seasons. "I was very
impressed with his recent experience with a
successful program at Philadelphia
University," said Joe DiPuma, Director of
Athletics at UB. Mike said he was confident that
the Purple Knights will have a much better season
next year due to our new conference membership
and an increase to two full basketball
scholarships.
Also, congratulations to senior Dave Lemanczyk
who has been selected to play in the New England
Basketball Coaches Division II Senior All Star
Game.
Women's
Softball
The
women's softball team is off to a great start
with 4-5 in conference which puts them in the
middle rankings for the conference NECC.
