Grogan a Grange officer

Mike Grogan '67 has been named assistant secretary of National Grange Mutual Insurance company. Grogan has a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry from the University of Bridgeport. Mike and his wife, Dianne, live in Walpole, NH.

Evanich to lead CSCPA

The Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA) has elected John L. Evanich Jr. '74, CPA of Wallingford to serve as president-elect for the organization's 2001-2002 activity year. Evanich is a principal in the Glastonbury firm of Hagget, Longobardi and Co., LLC. John earned his Bachelor of Science from UB.

Kurasha made VP

The Zimbabwe Open University has made history by appointing the first female vice chancellor of an institute of higher learning in Zimbabwe. Dr. Primrose Kurasha '86 earned her Masters in Business Administration at UB, majoring in marketing and management. She will be responsible for marketing the ZOU, raising funds, and coordinating the production of monthly and annual reports.

Casinelli promoted

Southern Connecticut Animal Trust, a non-profit animal welfare group, has promoted Louise Casinelli '89 as public relations director. Louise is an account executive at David X. Manners in Westport and had been public relations coordinator since 1998. Louise received her Bachelor of Arts in communications from UB.

Birge at Fairfield

Fairfield University has named Dr. Susan N. Birge '90, '96 as assistant vice president for student resources. Dr. Birge earned her master's and doctorate degrees at the University of Bridgeport, where she previously held the positions of associate dean of students and director of counseling. She holds adjunct professor of clinical studies status at UB and has a private psychotherapy practice.

Milet honered

Lehigh University honored Jefferey R. Milet, professor of theater, as one its 25-year faculty. Milet served as a head of the division of speech and theater for nearly a decade. Milet's research in stage lighting has resulted in two patents for the "columnated light channel instrument system." Milet earned his bachelor's degree from UB.
