The sixth annual UB Golf Tournament to benefit the department of athletics at the University of Bridgeport was held on Monday, July 17th at the Brownson Country Club in Shelton, CT. This year the torunament was named in honor of Bruce Webster, who retired last year as basketball coach.

The Shotgun Start Tournament, which included lunch, dinner, and awards for 54 participants, was highlighted by hole-in-one prizes of a 2000 Acura, offered by Acura in Milford on hole #1, and a $5000.00 cash prize for a hole-in-one on hole #15.

The foursome of John O'Keefe, Leo Redgate, Bill Duss and Mac Mackinnon each took the prize of a $75.00 gift certificate to Brownson Pro Shop for their low combined gross score of 148. The foursome of Matt Reed, Mark Reed, Katie Reed, and John Stratton won the Low Gross 1st prize of a $75.00 gift certificate to Brownson Pro Shop for their effort of a 106 combined net score. Matt Reed, the baseball coach at UB, won the closest to the pin hole, with a shot of two feet and two inches from the hole on hole #6, while Craig Hoekenga won the straightest drive competition on hole #4.
