North and South Hall is not only an affordable graduate residence, it also provides a culturally diverse and educationally rich atmosphere for any student. North and South Hall overlooks Knight’s Field and is located near Wahlstrom Library as well as Seaside Park. North and South Hall’s staff consists of Community Assistants (CA’s) who are supervised by the Resident Director of North Hall. The staff’s goal is to integrate both an academic and residential approach to the hall community as well as assist the residents in their educational, social, cultural, and personal needs. The staff is to be used as a resource in a collaborative approach with residents to assist with the challenges of their new surroundings as well as to create a positive and academically-centered community atmosphere. Residents of North and South Hall are expected to contribute and respect others in the hall community.
North and South Hall is a traditional co-ed residence hall that houses approximately 200 graduate students – or students over the age of 25. Every floor in North and South Hall is equipped with laundry facilities (washer and dryer) and full community kitchens (two stoves, sink, flat screen television, and dining area).
North and South Hall offers standard double rooms with a limited number of single rooms. Each room includes connections for cable and hi-speed Internet (students must bring their own cable cord and Ethernet cable). Additionally, each room is equipped with a micro-fridge unit (combination fridge/freeze/microwave) for shared use by the students in the room. Knowing that fire safety is an important concern, all residence halls are equipped with smoke detectors with voice evacuation systems.
