Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching

The Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching is a University of Bridgeport initiative focused on retention of first year students and on faculty development in best practices for learning and teaching.

 

Through a Title III grant, the Center is offering faculty development in new technologies, retention strategies, and other areas of interest to the University of Bridgeport faculty community.

 

Mission

The Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) at the University of Bridgeport provides faculty professional development and academic support services with the goals of enhancing classroom learning, promoting student retention, and facilitating academic excellence within the university community through the cultivation of best practices in learning and teaching.

Vision

Through a Professional Learning Community model, the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching aims to encourage inquiry, collegiality, cross-campus dialogue, and rich discussion about best practices in learning and teaching. In its responsiveness to the diversity of the University of Bridgeport community, the Center for Excellence and Learning and Teaching plans to further the goals of the institution through its faculty development programs and academic support services.
