The city of Rikuzentakata was destroyed by the 2011 tsunami and is now the site of a massive reconstruction project.
We’ll talk about the Japanese response to the disaster. It highlights interesting legal and cultural differences between the U.S. private approach and what might be called Japan’s “organic socialism.”
