International Political Economy & Diplomacy (B.A.)
With the conclusion of the Cold War the world has begun to seek a new approach to international relations. In an era where there is a growing focus on economic diplomacy, UB's B.A. in International Political Economy and Diplomacy fills a crucial niche. UB's degree in IPED was laid out by Dr. Stoyan Ganev, UB Distinguished Professor of International Studies and President of the 49th General Assembly of the United Nations. The major provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the global political economy as well as the analytical skills to evaluate change and direction. The study of the international economic system provides knowledge in how it produces, distributes, and uses wealth. And the study of the international political system provides knowledge in how institutions and rules govern social and economic development. Some examples of required courses are Political Economy of North-South Relations, World Religions, Cultural Anthropology, Diplomacy & Foreign Policy, International Law.

Social Science (B.A.)
This major is an excellent introduction to social science methods and it offers students the possibility to explore the various social sciences before opting for a particular focus. Students may elect to do a second major in either World Religions or IPED. The major provides students with a liberal arts experience from the perspective of the social sciences. Careers that students pursue after graduating from this major include positions in government, the foreign service, international agencies or businesses, law, teaching or community service. Five optional concentrations are available in history, international studies, political science, psychology, and sociology. Some examples of required courses are American History, Roots of Modern Culture, UN Studies, Social Inequality, and World Regional Geography.

World Religions (B.A.)
The World Religions provide the deepest and broadest reservoir of values that shape culture and identity. Religious studies invite us to engage in historical, social, scientific, and philosophical reflection upon these core values. Those hoping to engage in a career with an international focus in the 21st century should consider this major. In the International College the option of a double major with International Political Economy and Diplomacy is especially attractive. The major is designed to provide students with a liberal arts perspective toward the world's religions. Students are encouraged to both reflect critically upon the various religions as well as appreciate their powers in shaping cultures, civilizations and individuals. Studies emphasize on the interaction of religions with their surrounding social, historical, political and economic circumstances. Minors in philosophy, social science, and English can be obtained together with the major. Some examples of required courses are Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Religion and Fiction, World Scriptures, and Women in Judaism
