Supporting Your Alma Mater
Alumni are the University of Bridgeport’s largest group of stakeholders. At 35,000 strong, the alumni body has the power to enhance the future of the University and secure a dramatic impact on the future of their alma mater. Each gift from an alumnus is a vote of confidence in UB. Whether you earned your degree from Fones, graduated from the School of Education, earned your degree in the IDEAL program, joined us online, or participated in one of UB’s graduate programs, you will always be part of UB’s community.
Each time you give to the University, you help enhance the national reputation of UB, carry on Purple Knight traditions, support initiatives that are important to you, and impact the lives of current students and faculty who are working to transform the world. Just as you did, students benefit from those who went before them. As UB evolves with changing technology and the different educational needs to stay competitive and relevant, it is important that those who are closest to the University invest in its progress.
This year UB was ranked as one of the highest returns on investment in higher education, and our online education programs were ranked first in the country. The National Science Foundation awarded UB $200,000 to educate future teachers in STEM disciplines, and local philanthropist Ernest Trefz significantly invested in the School of Business. All of these accomplishments enhance UB’s reputation, which in turn increases the value of your UB degree. When a high number of alumni financially support the University - with a gift of any size - it has a direct impact on UB’s rankings in U.S. News & World Report.
As an alumnus, your commitment to the University of Bridgeport through financial support speaks volumes.
