Since graduating from UB college of naturopathic medicine in the December class of 2002, Dr. Daemon Jones, (her patients call her Dr. Dae) has been engaged in a number of exciting health based projects. She opened Healthydaes Naturopathic Medical Center in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area in Summer of 2003. As a way of encouraging patients to rediscover healthy eating, Dr. Dae starting performing cooking demonstrations where participants got to taste healthy foods.
In addition to demonstrations with her patients she performed demos with cancer and chronic disease organizations to support their mission to improve health through nutrition. After years of cooking demos, in 2007, Dr. Dae self-published her first book, Daelicious! Recipes for Vibrant Living, a health and food lifestyle book containing guidelines and recipes for the most common dietary plans prescribed for patients. Also during this time, Dr. Dae became an adjunct faculty member to Smith Farm Center for Healing and the Arts and Food As Medicine Professional Nutrition Program.
She also became a natural health writer for www.Empowher.com, a patient advocacy site for women. In 2009, Dr. Dae decided to change her practice and move to home visits to integrate her medical visits with nutrition, cooking and mind-body skills training as part of her treatment plans with patient. In 2011, in addition to private practice, writing and speaking, Dr. Dae was asked by Howard University Researchers to consult as the physician and nutrition advisor for a pilot study for the effect of yoga and nutrition on HIV positive women.
