ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS


  International Student Admissions Information

Those whose native language is not English are required to show English language proficiency in one of the following ways: by achieving a score of 500 (550 or more for graduate students, except 575 for the School of Business) or above on TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language); by achieving an acceptable score on the test of English language proficiency administered by the University; by successfully completing the intensive program of English as a Second Language (Level 12) offered by the University's English Language Institute (ELI); by successfully completing one semester of college English at a regionally accredited American university with a grade of "C" or better; by successful completion of the S.A.T. verbal exam with a score of 400 or above; the A.C.T. English exam with a score of 19 or above; the Michigan Test of English as a Foreign language with a score of 85 or above; the Prueba de Aptitud Academica (PAA) with a score of 500 or above; or by completion of English Language Service (E.L.S.) Level 109. International candidates must submit:

  • A completed admissions Application for International Students.
  • An official transcript or a certified copy of all previous academic work along with a certified, literal Englishtranslation.
  • Documentation that sufficient funding is available to meet the University's tuition and fees and living expenses. The Financial Statement is included in the Application for International Students.
