Students in the WREL program will demonstrate that they have achieved the following:
- a broad mastery of the liberal arts, including cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary skills of interpretation, critical thinking skills, and oral and written communication skills
- knowledge of key social institutions (and an understanding of their impact upon the development of world religions)
- achievement of critical, non-prejudicial understanding of how the world’s religions differentially impact social, political, and economic development
- mastery of religious studies methods
- knowledge of a high-level competency the history, beliefs, evolution, and practice of one religion; competency in one other religion; general knowledge of all major religions
- acquired tolerance, respect for diversity and respect for the great religious traditions, and commitment to seek the common good of human welfare
- an ability to undertake independent work and produce research at a high quality for undergraduates
* Note for all College of Public and International Affairs majors, a portfolio is collected to track progress in programmatic outcomes
