Katherine graduated from the Fones School of Dental Hygiene with her AS degree in 1987. While working full-time as a clinical dental hygienist, she furthered her education by attaining a BS from the University of Connecticut and continued on, earning a MS in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. She began her teaching career in 2003 as a clinical instructor at the Fones School. In 2005, Katherine became a full-time tenure track assistant professor and began teaching Dental Materials, Dental Radiology, and Dental Hygiene Research. Most recently, she began teaching Pharmacology and two Graduate-level courses.
In addition to her full-time teaching load, Katherine serves on numerous department and university committees. She has presented a variety of continuing education seminars to dental hygiene students, clinicians, and educators. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, Connecticut Dental Hygienists’ Association serving as co-Chair for Annual Session and Continuing Education 2012-2013, and local component associations. Katherine has devoted the past nine years of her professional life to teaching because of her belief and support in the mission of the University of Bridgeport and the Fones School of Dental Hygiene.
