The Organizational Leadership & Change concentration of the Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies degree identifies the challenges and opportunities of today’s ever-changing work environment. Professionals will explore various leadership theories and practices and develop valuable team-building, strategic planning and communication. Whether the organization is a new startup, a family business or a Fortune 500 company this degree will help navigate rapid technological, regulatory and societal changes.
The Organizational Leadership & Change concentration will prepare graduates to:
- Demonstrate leadership skills in visioning, strategic planning, and managing change.
- Demonstrate managerial skills in budgeting and finance, management of personnel, safety, information systems, and technology in the workplace.
- Find the most current and best available research and apply evidence-based practices to organizational change.
Online courses follow an accelerated 8-week format. Courses are asynchronous; accessible anytime from anywhere. All students are required to participate in an online orientation prior to the beginning of the program. During the orientation, students learn to navigate the Canvas course learning system, to utilize strategies for becoming a successful online learner, and to access other University resources. Professional Studies Program Requirements (24 credits)
Includes courses in Fundamentals of Management and Leadership, Social Impact of Technology, Business Math, Analytical & Persuasive Writing, Critical Thinking & Writing, Business & Professional Communications, Public Communications and Budgeting & Finance for Organizations
University Core Curriculum (42 credits)
Includes courses in English, Fine Arts, Humanities, Liberal Arts, Math, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences
General Electives (33 credits)
Select courses that expand your field of study and provide depth in a particular discipline. The General Electives allow for transferring a multi-disciplinary number of credits from other schools, while providing opportunity to customize your learning experience.
The Professional Studies program is accelerated with multiple options for transfer of credits; prior learning through work experience, military service and competency exams.
The maximum of 66 credits may be transferred in from an accredited two-year school and 90 credits from an accredited four year school.
