Dr. Tarek M. Sobh received the B.Sc. in Engineering degree with honors in Computer Science and Automatic Control from the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, Egypt in 1988, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer and Information Science from the School of Engineering, University of Pennsylvania in 1989 and 1991, respectively. He is currently the Dean of the School of Engineering at the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut; the Founding Director of the Interdisciplinary Robotics, Intelligent Sensing, and Control (RISC) laboratory; and a Professor of Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mechnical Engineering.
Dr. Yu Yanmin received her Ph.D. at S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She is a Fulbright Scholar and Rolan D. Melton Fellow of the American Press Institute. She served as the President of the Association of Chinese Professors of Social Sciences in the United States from 2001 to 2003. She teaches a number of courses in the area of mass communication. She has contributed articles and book chapters to various publications. Her recent book, American Media and American Society has been well received. Her research interests include media and society, media and foreign policy, media and international relations, intercultural communication, and US - China relations.
Professor Yongbom Kim is an internationally recognized Martial Artist. He earned his undergraduate and his Masters degree in Martial Arts from Korea's Kyung Hee University. He also holds a seventh degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Professor Kim has a particular academic interest in the historical and philosophical roots of Martial Arts and is becoming recognized for his commitment to mainstream the Martial Arts as an academic discipline in the West. He teaches both practical and theoretical courses in Martial Arts at the University of Bridgeport's International College.
Dr. Mark K. Setton earned his doctorate in Oriental Studies at Oxford. An internationally recognized East Asian scholar, Dr. Setton has been a Visiting Professor at Harvard and at the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Setton is widely published. His book Chong Yagong: Korea's Challenge to Orthodox Neo-Confucianism (SUNY Press 1997) pioneers a new area of academic inquiry in the West. Dr. Setton teaches Confucianism, Taoism, Philosophy of Religion, and East Asian political philosophy in the International College.
Dr. Angela Santiago earned a Masters of Science in Analytical Chemistry, with “Electrochemical Characterization of Platinum Polymer Coated Electrodes”, at the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. She then received her doctorate in Industrial Chemistry (now Chemical Engineering) Facultad de Quimica, at the Universidad Nacional de Asunción, in Paraguay. She received her PhD. in Analytical Chemistry from Syracuse University with “An Evaluation of Small Potential Step Differential Voltammetry. Application to the Sub-millisecond Time Domain”. She now teaches biology and chemistry at the University of Bridgeport.
