  • Foreign Language Requirement

    Students are required to demonstrate proficiency in a foreign language through an examination or the completion of a fourth-semester foreign language class or complete 3-6 credit hours of study abroad coursework.

  • Community Service Requirement

    100 hours of approved community service related to Agriculture, Community Economic Development, Education, Health or Youth in Development.

Completion of one of the following courses:

  • BUAD 382 Internship (3 credits)

  • IPED 394 Peace Corps Prep Community Service (3 credits)

Health Sector

Three (3) Sector Specific Courses: Health

Completion of nine (9) credits hours from three (3) of the following courses:

Intercultural Competence Courses

The following courses are designed to provide undergraduates participating in the Peace Corps Prep Certificate program with foundational knowledge related to careers in international development and/or service in the Peace Corps after graduation. In completing these courses, students deepen their understanding of societies served by Peace Corps volunteers, enhance their appreciation of cross-cultural relationships and communication, and explore critical global challenges, including poverty, infectious disease, political instability, conflict and violence, and environmental degradation that impact human life throughout the world.
