Admissions Overview

Admission to the Physician Assistant Institute is highly competitive. Our faculty are involved in the process from the very beginning. We are looking for students who have developed an interest in medicine as a career and who have an interest in the type of curriculum we are offering. The faculty will review applications and those offered an interview will be invited to the campus for a tour and meeting with the faculty. At the conclusion of interviews, the Physician Assistant Institute will offer acceptances to the most qualified of the applicant pool.

Criteria

The admissions committee considers all aspects of the application and application effort. We are looking for motivated individuals who have taken their academic preparation seriously. An applicant’s motivation for a career as a Physician Assistant is very important in our selection process.

Essentially, admission to the program is highly competitive and selective. Applications are reviewed relative to undergraduate and graduate cumulative and science GPA, patient care experience, completion of personal statement and letters of reference. Personal interviews, required for admission, are offered to the most qualified individuals. Meeting the minimal requirements for admission does not guarantee admission or an interview.  Finally all admitted students will be subject to a background check. This procedure will be conducted by the outside agency "VERIFIED CREDENTIALS."    All information is maintained confidentially.
