As a student in the Global Development and Peace M.A. online program, you will begin your studies with four core courses which provide a strong foundation in international economic development, conflict analysis and negotiation, the sociopolitical implication of the world religions, and research methods. You will then select from a specialized track in either Political Economy and Development or Global Management. Each track includes three courses and one elective outside the student’s selected track.
If you take two courses a term (fall, spring and summer) you can complete the program in two years.
Prior to the end of the program, you must complete at least two years of university study in a second language in addition to English or must demonstrate foreign language proficiency.
All students in the Global Development and Peace program will complete an internship. Students from the U.S. or other English-speaking countries must complete at least a two-week internship each year in a country in which the foreign language they have studied is spoken. International students have the option of doing their internship either in the United States or overseas.
You must complete at least 18 semester hours in the program before starting your internship.
