Certification for Nutritionists

The following independent certifications are available and appropriate for graduates of or nutrition program.  Students are qualified to sit for these certification exams after receiving their Masters Degree. Students should contact their local state Board of Health to determine which of these may be recognized for practice in their state and any other state licensing, registration or certification requirements as they are subject to change.

The Intersociety Committee on Nutrition Certification has been established with the hope to enhance communication and cooperation between various nutrition societies (American College of Nutrition, American Dietetic Association, American Society for Clinic Nutrition, American Society of Bariatric Physicians, and American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition) and certification boards in human nutrition (American Board of Bariatric Medicine, American Board of Nutrition, Certification Board of Nutrition Specialists, Commission on Dietetic Registration, and National Board of Nutrition Support Certification).
