University of Bridgeport Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship globally has been increasing annually since 2008. Academically Entrepreneurship as a requested degree or concentration has correlated in interest. Currently in schools where Entrepreneurship is offered it is often one of the highest demanded concentrations.

Summary of Requirements

MBA Program Curriculum (total of 36 credits)

Starting Fall 2017, the Ernest C. Trefz School of Business is launching a new 36-credit MBA program. For details about a previous Program of Study, please visit the UB Catalog or speak with your academic advisor. 

The MBA program is made up of three course components: Core, Concentration, and Capstone

Core Courses (18 credits)

In the six core courses you will apply the theory from the foundation coursework through cases and real-world exercises.

  • ACCT 505 Managerial & Cost Accounting (3 credits)
  • FIN 505 Advanced Financial Management & Policy (3 credits)
  • ITKM 505 Information Systems & Knowledge Management (3 credits)
  • MGMT 505 Organizational Behavior (3 credits)
  • MKTG 505 Marketing & Branding (3 credits)
  • MGMT 555 Global Program & Project Management (3 credits)

Concentration Courses (9 credits)

  • MGMT 560 Fundamentals in Entrepreneurship (3 credits)
  • DSNMG 400 Collaborative Design Studio I (in collaboration with SASD) (3 credits)
  • MGMT 585 New Product Commercialization (3 credits)

Capstone Courses (9 credits)

Integration Course (required)

  • BUCP 597 Policy & Strategy (3 credits)

Practicum (select one)

  • MGMT 582 Business Planning (3 credits)
  • MGMT 589 Cases in Ethics, Innovation, & Leadership (3 credits)
