University of Bridgeport | MBA Accounting CPA Track

The MBA with Accounting/CPA Track delivers the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for the CPA and CMA exams and is an alternative to an M.S. in Accounting program. This concentration is designed for undergraduate accounting majors or students with significant work in accounting. In this concentration you will obtain both a master’s level general business education and specific advanced accounting knowledge.

Summary of Requirements

MBA Program Curriculum (total of 36 credits)

Starting Fall 2017, the Ernest C. Trefz School of Business is launching a new 36-credit MBA program. For details about a previous Program of Study, please visit the UB Catalog or speak with your academic advisor. 

The MBA program is made up of three course components: Core, Concentration, and Capstone.

Core courses (15 credits)

In five core courses, you will apply the theory from foundation coursework through cases and real-world exercises.

  • FIN 505 Advanced Financial Management & Policy (3 credits)
  • ITKM 505 Information Systems and Knowledge Management (3 credits)
  • MGMT 505: Organizational Behavior (3 credits)
  • MKTG 505 Marketing & Branding (3 credits)
  • MGMT 555 Global Program and Project Management (3 credits)

Concentration Courses (12 credits)

  • ACCT 555: Advanced Auditing (3 credits)
  • ACCT 556: Accounting Regulations (3 credits)
  • ACCT 557: Business Environment & Concepts for Accountants (3 credits)
  • ACCT 558: Advanced Financial Accounting & Reporting (3 credits)

*Registration for these courses requires approval by the accounting chair and program director

Capstone Courses (9 credits)
