Frequently Asked Questions About Courses
What courses should you take?
Please refer to your degree plan checklist. Upon acceptance to the
program, you should receive a copy of your degree plan. As you progress
through the program, fill in the courses you have taken, and use this
to plan future courses.
How can you view the course syllabus?
Click on the course title to access the course syllabus. If there
is no link to the syllabus, we have not received the syllabus from the
instructor. Each course syllabus is posted online as soon as it is
received.
How do you order textbooks?
Refer to the course syllabus for the required textbook(s). You can
access the course syllabus from the Course Schedule. Click on the
Course Name and the course syllabus will open. You can order the books
from the UB Bookstore or any online bookseller.
NOTE: Students must have the required textbook(s) prior to the first day of class.
- Steps to Order Books From the UB Bookstore:
- Go to: www.bridgeport.bkstr.com.
- Click on “Find Your Textbook and Course Materials!”
- Select “Ideal” in the drop-down Select Your Program menu.
- Open the drop-down menu “Select Your Department” and choose the course subject area.
- Select your course number and then your Section.
- Then the textbook for the course will be listed and you can choose to purchase.

How do you find the correct classroom?
Classroom assignments are posted online next to the course title as
soon as they are confirmed. If no classroom is listed, please check the
schedule page periodically. Classrooms are typically posted online the
week prior to the term start date.
What are the deadlines for adding/dropping courses?
Please check theAcademic Calendar for add/drop, payment, and
registration deadlines. To drop a course, please fill out a drop form
and return to the IDEAL office, or fax the form to 203-576-4537.
How do I view my grades and course schedule online?
You can access your grades and course schedule online through
WebAdvisor. You will need to use your UBNet username and password. If
you do not have a UBNet account, you can apply for it online (and click
on “New UBNet account” on the left).
