Letter to Prospective Students
Hello!
My name is Yun Shim Kim and Byoung Taik Lim. We would like to be the first one to
personally introduce
and welcome you to the online Korean Language Institute at the University of Bridgeport .
Hopefully, if you are
taking the time to read this brief message, you are considering learning the Korean language
on some level. Here at KLI, we realize that learning any language, especially a second
language, can be very challenging and even intimidating for some. This is why we have
put our greatest efforts to create a course that will intellectually stimulate you, while
at the same time, motivate you along the way.
Speaking from our own personal experience of studying English(for Byoung Taik) and
Korean(for Yun Shim), I have come to realize
the importance of learning not only the language, but all aspects of a particular culture
and customs of the people who speak it. This enables us to truly receive a well-rounded
and comprehensive understanding of a people, their surrounding culture and of course
their language. With this in mind, the creators of this online study course, have worked
very hard to gather the most accurate, useful and up-to-date information and material
which will maximize your experience of learning Korean. And thanks to the internet and
today's advanced technology, we are able to constantly update and improve the course
so that you, the student, will be receiving only the newest and highest quality educational
materials. To top this off, students will be in contact with their personal Korean instructors
via e-mail on a regular basis. This will allow them to answer any questions students may
have and to monitor their progress constantly. It's as if you had your own personal tutorial
sessions.
We here at KLI sincerely and truly hope that if you do choose to study Korean with us, that
you will be able to not only learn, but also enjoy learning at the same time. From one
Korean student to another, please study hard and learn a lot.
Sincerely,
Korean Language Institute,
University of Bridgeport
